Berhampur, June 15: More than 30 people sustained injuries after an OSRTC bus in which they were travelling rammed into a roadside tree in Odisha's Ganjam district on Friday night.
According to sources, the mishap occurred at around 11 PM near Pankiari under Belaguntha Police Station limits, when the driver lost control over the bus and the passenger vehicle dashed against the tree.
Carrying around 40 passengers, the bus was on its way to Baliguda from Bhubaneswar, sources said.
The injured passengers were rescued and admitted to the Bhanjanagar hospital for their treatment.
Newly elected MLA Pradyumana Nayak visited the place where the accident occurred and also the Bhanjanagar hospital where several injured persons are undergoing treatment.
Belaguntha Police registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.
